Looking for the perfect place to bring your tribe together? Megève and the surrounding area offer exceptional chalets for unforgettable group holidays. Opting for a luxury chalet rental for 12 people in Megève means choosing space, comfort and freedom, without the constraints of a hotel.
Here's everything you need to know to organise your event your stay with family or friends.
Why choose a luxury chalet for 12 people?
Space for everyone
With six to eight bedrooms and private bathrooms, everyone has their own little cocoon. No need to queue for the shower in the morning! The generous communal areas are perfect for getting together for meals and evenings out, while the bedrooms offer the privacy you need when you need peace and quiet.
The charm of the mountains
The chalets of Megève have this authentic Savoyard architecture that we love so much: weathered wood, large picture windows, views of Mont Blanc. At Chalet Ararat, for example, with its 7 suites, you can enjoy the perfect balance between tradition (wood) and modern comfort. And the icing on the cake: spa, heated swimming pool, and even a real cinema for film nights.
Services that change everything
In the luxury chalets, the concierge takes care of everything before you even arrive: restaurant reservations, ski equipment hire, shopping to suit your tastes.
Want a chef in your home? You can have one. A Sunday brunch with fresh pastries and smoked salmon, a Savoyard fondue with the best local cheeses, or a six-course gourmet dinner... The chef manages everything, from supplies to cleaning the kitchen.
Where to rent your chalet
There are two options: in Megève, or in the surrounding area.
Megève and its neighbourhoods
Rochebrune offers peace and sun all day long, with some chalets ski-in/ski-out. Mont d'Arbois is all about prestige and large plots of land. Near the town centre, you're just a stone's throw from shops and restaurants. And Le Jaillet has 360-degree panoramic views.
Combloux, the nugget to discover
Ten minutes from Megève, Combloux is well worth a visit. Nicknamed «the pearl of Mont Blanc», this authentic village combines tranquillity with immediate proximity to the slopes. The chalets here benefit from more space and exceptional views. This is where our Chalet Ararat is located, perfectly positioned to enjoy Megève while escaping the hustle and bustle.
Your holidays all year round
Winter, skiing and so many other activities
Of course, there are the 445 kilometres of pistes in the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area. But there's also snowshoeing on the Beauregard plateau, dog-sledding, snowmobiling and ice-skating at the Olympic rink. For those who prefer a gentler pace, forest walks and ice sculpture workshops are just as enjoyable.
A different kind of mountain in summer
The Mont d'Arbois golf course, 300 kilometres of hiking trails, mountain biking, paragliding... Summer in Megève also means visiting mountain pasture farms, taking a Savoyard cookery class, or simply horse-riding in the forests.
Good restaurants
Book a table for twelve at Flocons de Sel (three Michelin stars) or La Sauvageonne, and you're guaranteed an exceptional experience. There are very good restaurants in Megève!
But frankly, a raclette in your chalet with good local cheeses can be just as memorable. That's the luxury of a private chalet too: doing what you want, when you want.
Time at the chalet
Après-ski by the fire with a mulled wine, a late afternoon spa session, an evening film under the plaids... These simple moments become precious when we're all together. Some groups even organise collective cooking workshops or themed evenings. There's something for everyone.
Practical tips for holidays at 12
When to book?
For school holidays, particularly in February and the end-of-year festivities, book six to twelve months in advance. You'll have a choice of the best properties and often the best prices. Outside school holidays, three to four months is enough.
For how long?
The week remains the classic format in high season (Saturday to Saturday). But in off-peak periods, many owners accept long weekends for three or four nights. Ideal for testing before committing to a full week.
Points to check
Before signing, be sure to check the amount of the deposit, the cancellation policy and what is included in the price (cleaning, linen, Wi-Fi, spa access). Also confirm that each room has its own private bathroom, and ask about parking, as it's not always easy to park several vehicles in Megève.
Fortunately, at Chalet Ararat, there are no questions to ask in the car park. !
FAQ : Your questions about luxury chalet rental for 12 people
Why a chalet rather than a hotel for 12 people?
Quite simply, freedom. You have your own space, you eat when you want, you use the spa at 11pm if you like. And financially, divided by twelve, it's often cheaper than a hotel, with much more comfort and space.
What is included in the price?
Generally: accommodation, linen, daily or twice-weekly cleaning, access to the spa and swimming pool, wifi, and basic concierge services. Private chef, chauffeur, massages, fridge stocking, etc. Some things are included in the price, others are extra. Make sure you clarify all this when you book.
What about allergies or special diets?
No worries. Private chefs are used to dealing with several dietary constraints in the same group. Vegetarian, gluten-free, various allergies... Just let us know when you book the service, and the chef will adapt all his menus. It's their job, and they do it very well.
When should you book to get the best price?
For Christmas and February, the earlier you book (6 to 12 months in advance), the better. Not only will you have choice, but you'll also get better prices. For summer and non-holiday periods, three to four months is more than enough.
Is it possible to rent just for a weekend?
In high season, it's a full week only. But in January (outside the holiday season), March, April and summer, many owners accept short stays of three or four nights. The rates per night are proportionately higher, but this allows you to discover the area without committing yourself too much.
