Flying activities in Megève

Paragliding in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif

Paragliding in Megève is one of the most popular experiences, with first flights available from the age of 6, starting at €80 for children and €90 for adults in the morning (€100 in the afternoon). From the Rochebrune site, at an altitude of 1754 metres, participants take off for flights lasting between 15 and 45 minutes, depending on the weather conditions.

There are several formulas to suit all tastes:

  • the Sensation Baptism with sensational bends from age 6,
  • the Ascendances Baptism for flights of 25 to 40 minutes at €130,
  • Baptism Flying, including 3 flights for €270.

This activity offers a unique view of the Aravis massif and Mont Blanc, creating unforgettable memories that rival the moments spent relaxing in Chalet Ararat's wellness areas.

Helicopter flights

For our guests looking for another activity in the air, helicopter flights from the Megève altiport are a great experience. Various options are available: 20-minute panoramic tours around Mont Blanc to discover some of Europe's most legendary peaks, or 30-minute tours offering complete immersion in the heart of the massif.

For those who want to extend the pleasure, you can take advantage of the the 50-minute experience which begins in the Beaufortain with the Roselend dam, explores the many symbolic viewpoints of the massif and its glaciers, before concluding with the mythical Vallée Blanche.

Defying verticality: Climbing and via ferrata

The via ferrata in Megève offers an accessible approach to mountaineering, supervised by professional guides, with a minimum age 12 and minimum height 1.50 m. Megève is surrounded by several remarkable sites:

  • The Curalla via ferrata on the Passy hillside, with a superb view of the Mont Blanc massif,
  • The via ferrata at La Roche à l'Agathe in Thônes,
  • The Aravis via ferrata with its spectacular crossing of the Arvi on a footbridge 80 metres above the ground.

These aerial routes alternate between natural paths and metal rungs. They offer a technical experience secured by a permanent lifeline.

Canyoning, a refreshing adventure

Le Belle au Bois canyonLocated right in the heart of Megève, the park combines all the technical aspects of canyoning: slides, jumps and abseils down waterfalls, with the option of bypassing each section or repeating them several times.

This activity is available from 2 July to 14 September 2025, at a cost of €70 per person in a group session.

For families with younger children, the Balme canyonaccessible from the age of 7, offers an adapted descent with superb basins and an alternation of abseils, jumps and slides.

This aquatic activity offers a change of pace between Chalet Ararat's indoor pool and the usual summer mountain outings.

The Megève Jazz ContestThe Megève Jazz Festival, an unmissable tradition since 1994, brings the village to life on the weekend of 14 July. This 28th edition transforms the streets of Megève into a veritable dance floor where 6 New Orleans jazz bands compete in a festive and convivial atmosphere, perpetuating over 30 years of Megève jazz tradition.

The Megève Blues FestivalThis recurring summer event brings international stars to the resort. In 2025, it will take place from 1 to 2 August at the Pré Saint-Amour, offering a top-class programme with evening concerts and springboards for local groups.

Megève celebrates Alpine culinary excellence every summer. In 2025, 5 and 6 July will mark a weekend specially dedicated to mountain flavours and the expertise of local chefs.

A centuries-old institution, the weekly market livens up the streets of Megève every Friday from 8am to 1pm, all year round. The MB RaceTaking place from 4 to 6 July 2025, the Mont-Blanc mountain bike race is the must-attend event in the Mont-Blanc region, with courses renowned for being as demanding as they are breathtaking. Jumping InternationalFrom 12 to 20 July, the Palais esplanade will be transformed into an equestrian theatre for the 14th edition of this emblematic event, promising a week rich in emotion and high-level sporting performances.
